Where we want to love Jesus Christ, love People, and serve Our community.

Gary and KrisI want to wish you a warm welcome and God's blessings as you visit Christian Fellowhip of Jefferson City's web site. Fellowship is a place "where we want to love Jesus Christ, love people, and serve our community". I am often asked the question, "What does your church believe?" On this web site you will find our Vision Statement and Explanation and Statement of Beliefs, which will help answer your questions.

Simply put, we believe the Bible is the Word of God and that the triune God created us, saved us through Jesus' shed blood on the cross, and that the Holy Spirit is leading and guiding us into all truth. We also believe we are to seek to build a passionate relationship with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We also believe that we are Christ's body, the Church. We are a relationship-oriented group of people that enjoy being together as the sons and daughters of God. We are God's family and are called to love each other and to lay our lives down for one another.

God has established His Church to be His representation to the world. The Church is called to be a dynamic revolutionary church without walls, and a bulding constructed with "living stones". As you look at the early church in Acts, you see a vibrant, dynamic church that was reaching out to all they came in contact with, as well as taking care of its' own. The church was a powerful demonstration of what God intended it to be. Perfect? No, but powerful in the love, concern, a leadership it demonstrated. The Acts church was not passive, but was influencing the communities where it was located. It did not merely focus on itself, but on how it could serve the community it was in.

Simply put, the first century Church was a living entity that sought after God and looked to the Holy Spirit for direction, trusting Him to protect and lead them. They were the Body of Christ and did not try to make God conform to their ways but they conformed to His ways. In other words, they did not put God in a box.

We want to see the church of today functioning in the same way. We want to be a church that boldly walks into the Holy of Holies, communes with God through prayer and worship, abides in Him, and then goes out and serves the community by carrying out His perfect will through love.

I pray that God richly blesses your day.

Sincerely,

Gary Behrns, Pastor
